Leading Middle East carrier Emirates Airline recently announced the launch of its new $6.2 million lounge at Los Angeles International Airport. This is the Dubai-based carrier’s 37th lounge to be opened worldwide.
The new Emirates Lounge is located at the Tom Bradley International Terminal at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). It is spread in an area of 840 square meters and has a capacity to seat up to 157 passengers. The access to the lounge will be open to the airline’s first class and business class passengers and also for Platinum and Gold members of Emirates Skywards.
The new lounge has been equipped with various facilities for the passengers. The prominent features among others include a fully-equipped business centre, a prayer room, showers, a dining area, a choice of relaxed and formal seating, leather armchairs, free Wi-Fi and a terrace view.
A spokesperson of Emirates Airline also said that those traveling in first class or booking business class flights will be offered a private chauffeur-service within 60 miles of the airport.
The airline first started operating flights to Los Angeles International Airport in 2008. The airline then used a Boeing 777-200LR aircraft to operate flights between Dubai and Los Angeles. Later on the airline introduced a 490-seat Airbus A380 Dreamliner aircraft on the Dubai-Los Angeles route in December 2013.
The 36 other lounges being operated by Emirates Airline are located in Zurich, Shanghai, Sydney, Singapore, San Francisco, Rome, Perth, Paris-Charles de Gaulle, New York JFK, Mumbai, Melbourne, Munich, Milan, Manchester, London Heathrow, London Gatwick, Kuala Lumpur, Johannesburg, Istanbul, Hong Kong, Hamburg, Glasgow, Frankfurt, Dusseldorf, Delhi, Colombo, five in Dubai, Brisbane, Birmingham, Beijing, Bangkok and Auckland.
