New business class travel experience at Delta’s new JFK terminal

New York, being the largest single U.S. air travel market and also the largest premium business travel market, has become the cynosure of all eyes in the U.S. aviation industry. Major U.S. carriers have been vying with each other to dominate the market and trying to do everything at their command to entice the customers, and particularly make business class travel worthwhile for them.

Delta Air Lines has been far ahead in this race and continues to be a dominant airline in the New York market. The airline has a simple strategy here. It wants to capture business travel market by offering a more pleasant experience to its customers – more nonstop flights, better planes and friendlier staff.

Delta Air Lines is one airline that aptly feels the pulse of the travelers. It knows what they really want. The airline has built a brand new terminal with floor-to-ceiling windows, abundant power outlets and a burger joint. These are all what a typical New York traveler would want when flying out of the airport. To make travel experience more attractive, the airline has recently opened a sprawling $1.4 billion terminal at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport. The 346,000 foot concourse offers increased seating, upscale food and shopping options and sweeping views of the airport. The new terminal has come up in place of the previous terminal, which was built by Pan Am in 1960. A 2,000-square-foot rooftop deck is the most unique part of the terminal that offers a close-up view of the runways and airplanes. It is part of a new Delta Sky Club and is accessible to only those members or passengers taking transcontinental or international business class flights out of New York JFK airport.
