New cabin interior for Hawaiian Airlines’ interisland aircraft

Hawaiian Airlines has decked up its Boeing 717 aircraft with new cabin interior, which is being currently used for interisland services. The airline in a statement recently said that the interior color palette is refreshing and with its earth tones, accents of sky blue and fuchsia, and a deep qua seat instantly connects the travelers profoundly with the elements of the islands.

The airline said that some of its Boeing 717 interisland aircraft will now have more seats and new sporting look. Hawaiian Airlines has retrofitted 18 Boeing 717 aircrafts, being utilized for interisland services, with an island-inspired cabin redesign.

Media reports said that the main cabins of 18 Boeing interisland aircrafts have been retrofitted with new lightweight seats. The cabin interiors of the entire interisland fleet being operated by Hawaiian Airlines are expected to be reconfigured by the end of 2015. The airline has however not disclosed the cost of the revamp.

There are currently five different cabin configurations in Hawaiian Airlines’ interisland fleet. With the ongoing retrofit the airline aims to bring its entire interisland fleet to one configuration. With this move the airline wants to decrease its operational complexity and offer consistent onboard experience to its customers.

The existing configurations had either 118 or 123 seats. According to the airline, the new configuration will however have 128 seats. The best part of this revamp will be that the customers will be offered the same amount of personal space that were until now provided to them. The new seatbacks will be offering a tablet table machine built from solid aluminum, which is sized and designed for using a tablet device and beverage service as well.
