Premium fliers traveling on American Airlines can now look forward to new amenity kits on board their flights starting from March onwards. The airline has recently introduced a new collection of amenity kits for all those traveling in first class or booking business class tickets on long-haul international destinations.
American Airlines has tied up many big brands for redesigning its amenity kits. Prominent brands collaborating with the airline include Clark’s Botanicals, C.O. Bigelow Apothecaries, 3LAB Skincare and Cole Haan. The airline also took the help from a firm Buzz, which American Airlines describes it as “in-flight experience specialists”, for redesigning the amenity kits.
A spokesperson of American Airlines said that the new kits would be replacing its retro amenity kits bearing the colors of its predecessors such as TWA, America West and Piedmont, which have now merged over the years to form the current successful American Airlines. The airline has however indicated that pajamas, which are usually part of amenity kits offered by other airlines, won’t be included in the new kits. The first class customers traveling on the airline’s 3-class intercontinental routes such as New York JFK-Los Angeles and New York JFK-San Francisco would also be offered amenity kits. The airline will however won’t offer amenity kits to its business class customers traveling on transcontinental routes. The airline will though be offering a bundled package to them, which will consist of ear plugs, an eye mask and socks.
American Airlines said that the amenity kits would be prominently featuring a custom-designed bag from Cole Haan comprising ear plugs, socks, eye mask, toothpaste and a toothbrush. Moreover, discount codes will also be provided in the kits which can be later redeemed for purchasing certain items of the brand as well. The airline will be distributing the amenity kits in four rotations of various colors. The distribution of amenity kits would end in March 2017. The first rotation of colors would be of red, blue and gray kits and would last until 4-½ months. The items offered in the amenity kits would vary by route and by cabin.
