New hotels launched, several coming up in Miami

The hotel scene in Miami is thriving just like its many hot beaches. The beginning of 2015 has seen some important boutique and lifestyle hotels being opened in the city. These include Ian Schrager's eagerly-awaited EDITION, Metropolitan COMO, and Thompson Miami Beach.

Many hotels are also in the pipeline and are likely to be opened in the next two years. The new hotels scheduled to open in the future include Hotel Indigo, Yotel, SLS lux Hotel, , and the luxury Faena Hotel. The Hotel Indigo is a new property of InterContinental Hotel Group.

Renowned hotel chain Marriott has also announced it is planning to open its another AC Hotel brand in the U.S. New Orleans is the first city in the United States where Marriott has opened its first AC Hotel in December 2014.

Media reports said that South Beach has always been the prime focus of hotel developers to build new hotels. However, this trend is now changing and the hotel developers are now focusing on other parts of Miami as well. This includes Midbeach area, situated north of 23rd Street, which has mostly been residential until now, but is being lately considered for developing new hotels. This area is being treated as a new hotspot for restaurants and hip club at the Fountainebleau.

Another area which has come into prominence for building new hotels in the city is the Downtown Brickell area. This booming area is presently witnessing many large retail and real estate developments.

Hotel industry experts said that Downtown Miami is flourishing and considered to be a great place to work, shop and live. It’s no wonder that the hotel developers are looking up to this area. Also, Miami is a renowned international destination and its popularity is an all-time high.
