New sleep kits, amenities for Delta Economy Class passengers

Delta Air Lines recently announced the launch of its new sleep kits and upgraded amenities for its customers traveling in Economy Class cabins on its long-haul flights on international network. The airline said that sleep kits would comprise of eyeshades and earplugs. The sleep kits are aimed at providing a relaxed journey to its customers when crossing through continents.

Delta Air Lines has decided not to stop at this only. The airline has other surprises in store for its Economy Class fliers traveling on transatlantic routes. The airline will now be providing a full-size water bottle after meal service on all its transatlantic flights or 3,850 miles or less operating between the United States and Europe. The airline has also updated its snacks offerings as well. A special treat is also in store for the customers. They would be provided mid-flight ice cream service on return flights from Europe to the United States.

According to Delta Air Lines, the recent upgrades on long-haul international flights would be expanded in early summer this year. The airline has decided to offer these services in First Class on domestic routes and Economy Class on both domestic and international routes. The airline will be offering new earbuds with the in-flight entertainment systems. It is the only airline in the U.S. to provide individual, on demand entertainment at each seat on all its international flights operating on long-haul routes.

The new upgrades are part of Delta Air Lines initiative to offer the best services and customer experience that involves huge investments. The airline is installing full flat-bed seats on all its widebody aircrafts plying on international routes and expected to be completed by summer 2014. The airline had earlier provided amenity kits to BusinessElite travelers in 2013. The airline will also overhaul its interiors, offer more baggage space and provide power access at every seat throughout its 225 fleet of narrowbody aircrafts on domestic routes by 2016.
