New United Club lounge opens at San Francisco airport

United Airlines recently opened its new United Club lounge at the San Francisco International Airport on June 8, 2014. The lounge has been opened near the Terminal 3’s ultra-modern Boarding Area E. The airline operates its flights out of Terminal 3. The new design concept has been emulated on the lines of similar clubs in London, Boston, San Diego, Seattle and Chicago.

The United Club lounge at San Francisco International Airport is spanning in an area of above 5,000 square feet. The lounge is located on the mezzanine level of the airport. The walls of the club adorn the airline’s vintage black-and-white photos.

The United Club with a seating capacity of 100 offers its members traveling in business class and other classes, complimentary beverages and snacks. The lounge also provides café and bar areas, as well as free Wi-Fi access.

The new lounge will operate in the international terminal and also domestic Terminal 3 Boarding Area F. The airline is planning a larger United Club near Boarding Area E, which is expected to be inaugurated in 2015.
 
Jimmy Samartzis, United Airlines’ Vice President of Customer Experience, said that San Francisco is a key hub in the airline’s extensive network and also a gateway to the Pacific. He said that the opening of a new United Club lounge here is a remarkable achievement. Samartzis said that the airline is committed to provide end-to-end experience to the customers at the airport and make their travel quite relaxing and enjoyable.

United Airlines is currently the largest carrier offering about 300 daily flights services to/from San Francisco International Airport serving above 90 destinations in the United States as well as around the world. The airline is presently conducting 30 daily nonstop flights to 20 global destinations from San Francisco. The airline recently started nonstop flights to Chengdu from San Francisco effective from June 9.
