Norwegian Air has decided to expand its network in the United States with the launch of three new trans-Atlantic routes to Paris CDG. The airline will be launching flights from Paris CDG to New York JFK, Fort Lauderdale and Los Angeles. The new service to these cities would become operational from July 29, 2016. The airline will be deploying its new Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircrafts for serving the routes.
A spokesperson of Norwegian Air said that the airline would be offering low-priced introductory fares to mark the launch of the new routes. However, during the peak summer months the customers would be required to pay double the amount for their flight tickets.
Norwegian Air, currently a leading European low-cost carrier, is rapidly strengthening its network in the United States. The airline said that Paris CDG will now become its sixth destination in Europe from the United States. The other European destinations being presently served from the U.S. include Bergen, Stockholm, Oslo, London Gatwick and Copenhagen. Apart from these, Norwegian Air has also started operating flights services to the Caribbean from three U.S. airports. The airline has launched nonstop flights to Martinique and Guadeloupe, both French island territories.
The airline is now offering services to many routes from eight cities on the U.S. mainland, as well as from two Caribbean destinations of San Juan and St. Croix.
Media reports said that Norwegian Air would be offering four flights per week between Paris CDG and New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport. The airline will be offering twice weekly service from Los Angeles, while Fort Lauderdale-Paris CDG route will be served with once weekly flights. With the launch of flights to Paris, the airline will be serving 38 different routes from U.S. airports. The airline will thus be offering more flights services to Europe in comparison to its other European rivals. Among other U.S. destinations being served by Norwegian include Orlando, Oakland, New York JFK, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Fort Lauderdale, Boston and Baltimore/Washington. Norwegian Air has also stated that it is planning to launch flights to more destinations in the coming years.
