Norwegian launching twice-weekly London-Las Vegas flights Oct 31

Norway’s national carrier Norwegian has announced it will be launching twice-weekly flights to Las Vegas from London Gatwick starting from October 31, 2016. The airline will deploy a Boeing 787-9 aircraft to serve the two destinations. The aircraft is configured in two classes – Business Class and Economy Class.

Providing details about the schedule of the new service, a spokesperson of Norwegian said that the flight will make its departure from London at 12.10 hours and arrive in Las Vegas at 16.00 hours. The twice-weekly service will be operated on Mondays and Thursdays. The return flight will depart from Las Vegas at 18.00 hours and arrive in London Gatwick at 10.50 hours the following day.

Apart from London Gatwick-Las Vegas route, Norwegian is also currently operating flights services to Las Vegas from Stockholm and Copenhagen. The airline is also planning to launch a weekly service between Las Vegas and Oslo from November 1 this year.

Norwegian has also recently launched flights services to Oakland from London Gatwick. The airline is also serving Boston and Orlando routes as well from London Gatwick.

British Airways had until earlier this year operated flights services between Las Vegas and London Gatwick. The airline however stopped flights on the route after the London Gatwick-New York JFK service was reinstated. UK’s national carrier had also increased flights services between Las Vegas and London Heathrow at the start of summer schedule. Another leading international carrier Virgin Atlantic Airways is also providing daily flights services to Las Vegas from London Gatwick.

Bjørn Kjos, Chief Executive of Norwegian, said, “The airline is currently witnessing an increasingly strong demand between London Gatwick and the United States. The airline is also continuing to expand with the launch of flights to new destinations. The company has recently taken the delivery of one Boeing 737-800 aircraft in May this year. There are plans to introduce 21 aircrafts in 2016.”
