Oman Air Plans Economy Only Flights

Oman Air, responding to the spike in demand for economy seats, is planning to roll out exclusive economy only flights on routes that have a lower demand for premium class.

To meet this demand, a few Boeing 737s will be retrofitted with economy seats.  As per the airline, the plan will roll out with 4-5 airplanes getting retrofitted for areas that have a higher budget travel demand.

Oman Air has followed in the footsteps of Etihad, which made similar changes in its flights last year when two of its Airbus A320s were reconfigured to fly 162 economy flight seats, an addition of 42 flight seats as opposed to older ones.

Oman Air in the meantime is also in talks with Boeing 787 Dreamliner over the delay in deliveries and looking to get compensated.
