Oman Air ranked world’s fourth-best for economy class seats

Sultanate of Oman’s national carrier Oman Air has been ranked as the fourth-best in the world for its economy class seats. Media reports said that a renowned U.S.-based news portal read by millions worldwide has ranked various airlines.

The reports said that the seat pitch of Oman Air in economy class cabins is of 34 inches, which is on par with Japan’s second-largest carrier All Nippon Airways. The reports also stated that Oman Air’s economy class seats are well designed and boasts of a one-piece composite seat back structure, padded covers, an articulating bottom pan and a armrest that could be raised on the aisle side. The customers find it easier to settle in and have a comfortable on board experience.

A spokesperson of Oman Air said that the customers traveling in economy class also have access to Ethernet plug and a PC power port which can be shared with the co-passengers. This feature is however not found in other airlines that offer affordable economy class seats.

Saudi Arabia Airlines hover emerged at the top in economy class seats rankings. Korean Air and Garuda Indonesia ranked second and third respectively. Other international carriers such as Japan Airlines, Singapore Airlines and Turkish Airlines followed Oman Air in the rankings.

Oman Air currently owns an impressive fleet of two ATR 42s, four Embraer E175s, one Boeing 737-700, 20 Boeing 737-800s, two Boeing 737-900s, four Airbus A330-200s and six Airbus A330-300s. The airline is also awaiting delivery of six Boeing 787 Dreamliners in 2015. The airline hopes that that its total fleet size will be around 50 aircrafts by 2018, and it is further expected to increase to 70 aircrafts by 2020.
