Paid-for meal option now for Finnair Economy Class

Economy Class passengers booking airline tickets on Finnair will now be offered to option to upgrade to a paid-for meal service. The airline said that the passengers will be able to make use of this option on all non-domestic European routes.

Finnair in a statement said that the paid-for meal option would now be available on all services including those operated by its partner Flybe Finland. The exception will be however on flights toVilnius, Riga, Tallinn and St. Petersburg, as well as on flights between Madrid and Helsinki. Presently, the passengers are allowed to pre-order a meal by logging on to the Finnair website up to 72 hours before their departure.

The passengers would be offered delectable paid-for meal choices. These include an all-day breakfast enchilada, beef bourguignon, pasta Bolognese, chicken korma and rice, and a salad with smoked salmon. The upgraded meals would cost $14 (10 Euro) when ordered in advance, or $17 (12 Euro) when purchased onboard the flights. The airline however said that only a very small section of meals would be available for purchase on board the aircraft.
