PAL flies in style to the US with Boeing 777-300ERs

Philippine Airlines newly acquired all new Boeing 777-300ERs will operate US-bound routes. Maiden journey was taken by this new aircraft on Los Angeles – Manila route.

PAL will offer Boeing 777-300ER, the largest twin-engine aircraft fleet today, on all its flights to the USA. As of now PAL flies to Los Angeles and San Francisco in the US, and is soon to resume its services to Florida, Chicago and New York, as per a recent announcement. This new-fuel efficient aircraft can carry 370 passengers offering three seat classifications.

Business class section in the 777-300ERs will comprise of fully-flat business class seats enabling passengers to sleep and relax just the way First Class passengers do, as their seats fully recline. Even Fiesta Class Passengers on this fleet will get a treatment like business class passengers. They will be able to rent out iPads and stream to Wi-Fi entertainment apart from enjoying the already available movies and TV shows with the help of their seat-back TV monitors.

Passengers will be able to indulge in cuisines prepared by top chefs varying from Chinese, Thai, Japanese, Filipino and Western. The airline has also changed its in-flight menu and is determined to offer world-class dining experience in-flight.

The modern fleet of Boeing 777-300 aircrafts will replace PAL’s Boeing 747-400 fleet, presently flying on US routes. The airline wanted to replace them ever since they ordered this new series. However aviation safety rating of the country Philippines was downgraded to category 2 by United States Federal Aviation Administration in 2007, forcing the airline to postpone its decision. Finally in April, 2014 Philippines got its much coveted Category 1 status, allowing carriers like PAL to resume their operations in the US.
