Philippine Airlines to relaunch flights to NYC after 17 years

Here’s good news for Filipinos living in the east coast of the United States. Now, flying back home will become much easier. Philippines national carrier Philippine Airlines recently announced it will be relaunching its flights to New York City from Manila effective from March 2015. The service is being resumed after a gap of 17 years, and will serve “The Big Apple” from Manila via Vancouver. With the relaunch of new service, the customers can now look forward to cheap airfares and multiple flight options.

Philippine Airlines in a statement said that the flights between Manila and New York City will be operated with the help of an Airbus A340-300 aircraft. The airline is reportedly taking the advantage of the expanded Air Services Agreement between the Philippines and Canada, which will be allowing Philippine carriers to conduct up to 14 flights per week between the two countries.

According to the new flight schedule provided by the airline, Flight PR126 will be departing from Manila at 11.50 pm and reach Vancouver at 10.50 pm. The same flight will land at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport at 7 am the next day. The flights to New York City from Manila via Vancouver will be operated four times every week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays.

The airline further stated that the return flight PR127 will make its departure from New York City at 11 am and arrive in Vancouver at 1.50 pm. The same flight after a stopover will again depart from Vancouver at 3.20 pm and reach Manila at 8.30 pm the next day.

Philippine Airlines will now become the 2nd Southeast Asian carrier after Singapore Airlines when it relaunches the flights to New York in March 2015.
