The Plaza Hotel in Las Vegas is being renovated in time for summer. Media reports said that the renovation is in its final stage. Upon completion the hotel is all set to offer amazing “rooftop pool experience” as it prefers to call.
The reports said that “the pool on the roof” – The Plaza Pool – will be undergoing major upgrades during the next several weeks. The renovation will see six cabana suites being added and coming fully equipped with refrigerators, fans, furniture and TVs. Many daybeds would also be placed around the pool as well.
Though, these facilities are considered to be quite normal, particularly at various hotel pool decks in Las Vegas. Media reports however said that the most impressive upgrade here would be that the expansion of the Plaza Pool would be spanning in 50,000 square feet with the usable space being extended to 70,000 square feet. The upgrades will also see courts being added for basketball, tennis and pickle ball (a small-scale mash of racquetball, tennis and table tennis), as well as a sandbag-toss game, table tennis and foosball.
The entire scene can be looked over from a stage which is also being built. The reports further stated that the hotel is planning to book live entertainment (including DJs) for supporting the existing events such as Punk Rock Bowling and “Big Blues Bender” in September. Jonathan Jossel, Chief Executive Officer of Plaza Hotel, while explaining the upgrade said that the foremost idea is to look for more Palm Springs-chill feel instead of a Strip dayclub feel. He also said that people of all age groups will be able to have a thrilling experience at the rooftop pool. The guests staying at the hotel will though be offered free access to the pool. Those who are non-hotel guests will also gain access to the pool after paying a fee, the amount which is still being decided.
The Plaza Pool is now set to become an important player in the Las Vegas pool-party culture. The space here would be representing one of the largest pool decks downtown. The Plaza Pool is also hoping to rival the Tank at the Golden Nugget and Picnic at the Downtown Grand.
