Pre-order meal option for Icelandair business class flyers now

Here’s good news for Icelandair premium customers. The passengers booking business class flights on the airline can now pre-order meals of their choice up to 48 hours before their departure.

A spokesperson of the airline said that the business class customers will be offered a total of 9 Saga Class Meals, which they can pre-order at least two days before their scheduled departure. The airline’s own in-flight chefs have created these special meals.

Few of the meal alternatives available for pre-order include a vegetarian selection, a gluten free selection, an organic lamb option, a cold water fish dish from Grindavík, and many more. The airline said that it is aiming to provide its customers an authentic local meal experience on board their flights. The meals are prepared using fresh ingredients whenever possible. The pre-order dishes available to the business class customers include Icelandic Arctic char, Chicken Harissa, Organic Icelandic lamb, among several others.

The Icelandic Arctic char essentially comprises of a cold water fish from Grindavík and is served with creamy shellfish sauce, wild mushrooms and creamy barley. The Chicken Harissa is a gluten free option. It consists of marinated chicken breast and is served with yoghurt sauce, string beans and toasted rice.

The Organic Icelandic lamb is yet another great meal option to pre-order. It is served with wild mushrooms, peas, new potatoes and jus instilled with Arctic thyme. The customers can also pre-order roasted fillet of beef which will be served with salad, potatoes, remolade, crispy onion and bread along with seeds of sunflower on the side. The meal options however change every day and mostly depends on departure time and routes.
