Finland’s national carrier Finnair has now enhanced its offerings to business class customers. You can book your meals in advance through pre-ordering your preferred main course. Three ‘secret’ dishes are awaiting you, but the catch is that you must know about these meals before placing your orders in advance. If you are adventurous type and want to try out exotic dishes, then consider ordering a reindeer course.
If you want a little extra indulgence, particularly for special occasions, you can look beyond the regular fare. You can order for a box of chocolates or ask for the exclusive bottle of Dom Pérignon wine to enjoy during the course of long-haul flights.
Finnair has decided to keep its business class fliers happy. Apart from showcasing its dishes from its own Nordic Kitchen on flights departing from Helsinki, the airline is also introducing local and fusion food from other international airports such as Beijing and Hong Kong, where different celebrity chefs are asked to create in-flight menus from these key cities.
The meals can be pre-ordered 24 hours prior to departure through Finnair’s website where you would be able to choose your preferred dish from the menu available onboard your flights from Helsinki. You will discover three extra options, which is usually not known to the customers ordering onboard meals.
Finnair is presently offering a healthy ‘wellness and energy’ and ‘food lover’s treat’ options. The ‘wellness and energy’ meals comprise of grilled chilli marinated prawns with fresh vegetables, jasmine rice and cashew nuts. On the other hand, the ‘food lover’s treat’ meal comprises of roasted potatoes, herb seasoned bratwurst sausages, and onions with fresh tomatoes.
There’s even something more exotic awaiting you – the ‘chef’s gourmet’ choice. This exotic dish comprises of a roasted fillet of reindeer with grilled vegetables, potato gratin and ale-cranberry sauce. The reindeer meat is though iconic to Finland, but might seem to be quite unusual for many Australians and people of other nationalities.
