Precautions to be taken while traveling with a Newborn on flights

Air travel with infants can sometimes be tricky. When it comes to traveling, there are many people who get hiccups as it is considered bothersome as much as it is a necessity. Some people have a fear psychosis whether they are traveling by international airlines or cheap domestic flights. There is no dearth of airways in the world, and they are always ready to provide you airline discount at the best airline prices from whichever country you want to travel from. But, traveling, in whatever form, mostly appears to be worrisome and uphill task until and unless one doesn’t reaches his/her destination comfortably and safely.

For mothers or parents who are traveling with their newborn, this might just prove to be quite a frustrating experience. Your trouble almost begins instantaneously when you buy airline tickets and board the cheapest airline along with your infant. You might feel awkward and depressed when your newborn makes lot of noise and creates all kinds of fuss. Even most of your fellow passengers, who bought inexpensive flight tickets, might get annoyed with the disturbances caused by your newborn during the journey. It is always recommended that when you board the airplane after buying cheap plane tickets you should take some precautions and adhere to the guidelines outlined by the airways when you are traveling along with your newborn.

When you buy flight tickets for cheap airfares in order to travel by air line flights along with your newborn, you’ll always want to keep him/her isolated from your fellow travelers so that they are least disturbed or not disturbed at all. If you are carrying liquids there is every possibility that airline security might just crack down and bar you from carrying them as some liquids are prohibited from being carried on air planes. The new EU-wide airline guidelines allow you to bring more than 100ml of baby formula, baby food, milk or juice as long as you have an infant less than two years of age with you. According to the new rules the liquid containers should be carried in a clear plastic, re-sealable bag that does not exceed 20cm x 20cm (8in x 8in). The plastic bag will, however, be required to be removed from the hand baggage and X-rayed separately.

Among other precautions include calling the airline 72 hrs before the flight and requesting a bassinet, baby food. Try checking the flight load and request a seat from the airline staff with some distance from other pax. It would be good for you if you request for a seat assignment in a vacant row. Do remember to check whether the flight is on time. If it is, however, delayed then go late, instead of showing up early. Also, don’t forget to carry a blanket as it tends to get cold on the flight. Possibly ask of a free upgrade at the gate....it doesn't hurts to ask.
