Qantas Airline downsizes business class flights on Melbourne-Hong Kong Route

Qantas has plans to cut down the extended Hong Kong- London Heathrow flights from its Melbourne-Hong Kong flights from March 2012.  The move would translate in to lesser number of business class seats for Eurasia bound passengers.

While cutting the route short, the airline is also reported to be downgrading the plane. It would move to Airbus A330 from the existing Boeing 747-400, which would mean lesser number of business class seats and no upper decks on the 747. Business class seats would be then configured ahead of the economy class on the singular cabin.

Flight times would continue to be as they are. QF29 would leave Melbourne at 1415 and arrive in Hong Kong at 2145. To continue to London, travelers would have to book BA flights, for which there are two options: BA26 at 2315 and BA28 at 2345.
