Australia’s national carrier Qantas Airways recently introduced its new winter menu for its business class customers. The airline also said that the customers traveling in first class, premium economy and economy class can also look forward to new menu as well.
Media reports said that the new menu would be mostly relying on comfort foods that are mostly loved by Aussies when taking flights to international destinations. The final menu was however made public only after Qantas Airways’ chef Neil Perry and his team experimented with nearly 1,000 new recipes.
According to the reports, the chef along with his team is likely to create more than 300 menus after drawing inspiration with visits to various markets around the world including those in London, Los Angeles and Thailand.
A spokesperson of Qantas Airways said that it will be offering a menu of large and small plates to its business class customers, simultaneously allowing them to mix and match. The new menu would be a replacement of the traditional three-course meal. Some of the new dishes that premium customers may look forward to savor include crispy roasted potatoes with an "Italianesque" lemon grilled spatchcock, rounded off with a salty anchovy dressing.
The first class customers on Qantas Airways would dine a la carte or be able to savor a seven-course delicious menu. Every four to six weeks a seasonal dish would be introduced. If you are traveling in first class in the month of June 2016 then you can look forward to enjoyseared moreton bay bugs with brown butter, grilled shallots, roasted Jerusalem artichokes, thyme and lemon dressing.
According to Qantas Airways, classic dishes would however continue to be a part of the menu. The classic dishes being currently served in first class comprises of the steak sandwich, salt and pepper squid with piquant green chilli sauce, and the signature ‘cotton candy’ pavlova to be served along with fresh seasonal fruits.
