Qatar Airways is continuing with its expansion spree and also enhancing its services to the United States. This leading Middle East carrier has achieved yet another milestone in its history.
Media reports said that Qatar Airways is not only the global launch customer of Airbus A350 aircraft, but has now become the world’s first airline to fly Airbus A350 to the United States. The airline’s inaugural A350 flight landed at Philadelphia International Airport from Doha’s Hamad International Airport on January 1, 2016.
By including the coveted Airbus A350 in its fleet, Qatar Airways became the official launch customer of the aircraft and also proved to be the leader by deploying the highly modernized, state-of-the-art aircraft by making robust investment in technology. Moreover, the airline also wants to show commitment to its customer by offering them superior travel experience, and also maintaining one of the most advanced, youngest fleet in the world.
The Airbus A350 aircraft will be featuring a host of eco-efficiency tools. The aircraft has been designed to significantly reduce emissions by 25 percent in comparison to the current generation of airlines. The aircraft has been configured with a carrying capacity of a total of 283 passengers. The premium customers booking business class tickets would be offered 36 fully lie-flat seats in business class cabin in a spacious 1-2-1 configuration.
Akbar Al Baker, Group Chief Executive of Qatar Airways, while expressing delight at the launch of A350 flight to Philadelphia, said that the Airbus A350 aircraft has been specifically designed to fulfill the needs of today’s international flyer. He further said that the airline will continue to bring innovations to enrich passenger experience and take the global aviation ahead into the next decade.
Apart from launching A350 flight to Philadelphia on January 1, Qatar Airways also started operating its daily nonstop flights to Los Angeles from Doha on the same day. The airline has already indicated that it will be continuing with the U.S. expansion throughout 2016. The airline is set to double its flights services to New York JFK on April 1. It will also be launching daily nonstop flights to Boston and Atlanta on March 18 and June 1 respectively.
