Qatar Airways recently launched its daily scheduled flight services to Venice. After Rome and Milan, the “Floating City” of Venice has now become the third destination of Qatar Airways in Italy.
The airline is currently operating daily flight services to Rome and Milan. The addition of daily flights to Venice will now bring the total number of flights to 21 per week in Italy.
The launching of the daily flights to Venice also indicated Qatar Airways commitment to continue with its expansion drive in Europe in 2011.
With its scenic beauty of canals, Venice is famous throughout the world as an acclaimed tourist destination. The introducing of flight services to Venice has made it the 26th destination in Europe to be served by Qatar Airways. It is also the 5th destination in Europe to be launched until now this year by the airline.
Akbar Al Baker, Chief Executive Officer of Qatar Airways, said that by adding this historic, beautiful city of Venice to the international route network, the airline has strengthened its presence in Italy further and shows the importance of this dynamic market for the airline. He further said that Qatar Airways is looking forward to bring visitors from world over to this great tourist destination. “Venice has its natural attraction of canals, a great magnet for tourists from across the world to experience and enjoy,” said Al Baker.

Qatar Airways will deploy Airbus A320 on the Venice-Doha route. The aircraft will be configured with 12 seats in the Business Class and 132 seats in the Economy Class. The aircraft will also be offering seatback TV screens with state-of-the-art interactive entertainment system onboard to the passengers giving them a choice to select from above 700 audio and video on demand options. Besides, there will be a special OnAir service facility for the passengers giving them the privilege to make use of their mobile phones onboard for Emails, MMSs and SMS.
