Qatar Airways joins oneworld, offer double mileage points

Qatar Airways is all set to offer cheap airfares to its frequent flyer program cardholders by offering double mileage points. Qatar Airways recently became the full-fledged member of oneworld, the leading global airline alliance. To celebrate its oneworld membership on October 29, the airline has decided to offer double mileage points over a two-and-a-half month period when flying with it.

Qatar Airways also announced that the members of its Privilege Club loyalty programme would receive Qmiles rewards when flying with its new oneworld partners. With these cheap flights offer, the airline has formally marked its entry into the oneworld alliance.

According to Qatar Airways, the customers will be able to take advantage of this offer from November 15, 2013 through January 31, 2014, and also during the Christmas holiday period of December 20, 2013 through January 5, 2014. However, the offer will end a week earlier for Cathay Pacific Airways’ Marco Polo Club cardholders on January 24, 2014 and those flying with Cathay Pacific Airways. Qatar Airways’ oneworld membership will also allow Privilege Club Platinum and Gold members to access 550 airport lounges worldwide offered by oneworld member airlines when flying with one of the alliance’s carriers.
