Qatar Airways recently expanded its frequency to New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) with the launch of a second daily service to the city. The new morning flights to New York JFK from Doha will be operated with the help of an Airbus A350 aircraft.
The airline’s existing service between the two destinations is currently being operated out of New York JFK airport’s Terminal 8. The second additional flight will however be conducted out of Terminal 7. New York JFK is presently the hub of many oneworld members, which include Qantas Airways, Iberia, Cathay Pacific Airways and British Airways. Doha-based Qatar Airways is also a member of oneworld global airline alliance.
A spokesperson of Qatar Airways while providing the details of new schedule said that the second daily Flight QR704 would depart from New York JFK at 11.15 hrs and arrive at Doha’s Hamad International Airport at 06.45 hrs local time. The return Flight QR703 would make its departure from Doha at 02.25 hrs and reach New York JFK at 09.15 hrs local time.
Qatar Airways will continue to operate its existing evening service as usual from Terminal 8 utilizing its Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. Presently, the evening Flight QR702 departs from New York JFK at 22.00 hrs and arrives in Doha at 17.35 hrs local time next day. The return Flight QR701 takes off from Doha at 08.15 hrs and reaches New York JFK at 15.15 hrs local time.
Media reports said that Qatar Airways is presently conducting its flights services to Singapore, Munich and Frankfurt from Doha with the help of its eight Airbus A350 aircrafts. The airline is also set to launch its new flights to Adelaide from Doha from May 2016, and serve the route with the help of its Airbus A350 aircraft.
The destinations in the United States being currently operated with the help of Airbus A350 aircrafts by Qatar Airways include Boston and Philadelphia, and now second daily flights services to New York JFK as well. The airline has already placed orders for an additional 72 Airbus A350 aircrafts.
