Qatar Airways has recently announced it will be launching new flights to Las Vegas in 2017. The airline is however yet to reveal the details of its new schedule. The launch of the new service will see Las Vegas become the airline’s 11th destination in the U.S. The airline had earlier launched nonstop flights to Atlanta in June this year.
Media reports said that Qatar Airways is set to become the fastest-growing Middle East carrier to expand its footprint in the United States. The launch of the Doha-Las Vegas route is part of the airline’s eight-city expansion plans next year. Apart from Las Vegas, other destinations being currently served by the airline in the U.S. include Washington Dulles, Philadelphia, New York JFK, Miami, Los Angeles, Houston, Dallas/Fort Worth, Chicago O’Hare, Boston and Atlanta.
The new flights services scheduled to be launched by Qatar Airways, in addition to Las Vegas, include Yanbu and Tabuk (Saudi Arabia), Santiago (Chile), Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), Medan (Indonesia), Dublin (Ireland), and Canberra (Australia).
Akbar Al Baker, CEO of Qatar Airways, said, “We are delighted to share with you all the good news that flights to Las Vegas would be launched sometime in 2017. Apart from this, the airline is also going to launch flights to other international destinations as well next year. We want that Qatar Airways becomes the leading Middle East carrier to offer seamless connections to more people to even more destinations than any other carrier in the Gulf region. We are also committed to see that our customers remain happy and satisfied with the amenities being provided on board their flights.”
It may be noted that Emirates Airline and Etihad Airways are the other two leading Middle East carriers, apart from Qatar Airways, making extensive efforts to expand their network in the United States and other international destinations. All the three airlines are currently among the fastest growing in the world.
