Qatar Airways offering 10-15 percent Cheap Airfares than others

Qatar Airways is offering airfares at least 10 to 15 percent cheap than what is being currently provided by its competitors. This was disclosed by Akbar Ali Baker, CEO of Qatar Airways, recently while talking to mediapersons. The general query posed to the airline by mediapersons was that why its fares were higher than what was being offered by its competitors like Etihad Airways and Emirates Airline. Al Baker promptly replied to the query saying that the perception was quite misleading insofar as its fares were concerned.

Al Baker said that the Qatar Airways’ price strategy was being followed by most airlines in the world. He said that the airline’s prices are presumed to be higher because the customers are required to pay somewhat higher when purchasing tickets for making point-to-point travel. However, on the contrary the ticket prices on an average are 10 to 15 percent cheaper when purchasing for point-to-point travel. He said that this realization comes only when buying a ticket for travel on Doha-London or Doha-Paris routes in a particular class and when the same ticket is purchased by the competitors of Qatar Airways.

Al Baker spoke to mediapersons during a press conference to celebrate the first landing of Airbus A350 XWB aircraft at Doha’s Hamad International Airport. The new aircraft is considered to be the most modern wide-body aircraft in the world. Qatar Airways is the first customer to launch Airbus A350 XWB. The airline has placed orders for 80 such aircrafts.
