Qatar Airways to launch Doha-Atlanta flights with A380 June 1

Qatar Airways recently announced it will be launching flights to Atlanta from Doha. The flights on the route will be initially conducted with the help of an Airbus A380 aircraft. Later on, the airline will switch over to a regular Boeing 777 service.

Media reports said that this will be for the first time that Qatar Airways will conduct flights to the U.S. with its superjumbo. The inaugural flights will take off for Atlanta on June 1, 2016. The airline said that Atlanta will now become its 10th destination in the United States.

The Airbus A380 aircraft which will be flown on Doha-Atlanta route will be configured in three classes. This will be for the first time that U.S. travelers would be able to experience the airline’s first class cabin.

The premium customers booking business class flights to Atlanta from Doha’s Hamad International Airport would be able to enjoy a relaxing experience at Al Mourjan Premium Lounge prior to boarding their flights to the U.S. The lounge at Doha airport is spread in a vast area of 10,000 square meters, and is exquisitely designed to offer a hotel-like experience to the first and business class customers. Among other amenities provided at the Al Mourjan Premium Lounge include a state-of-the-art business center, a continental style café, a full a-la-carte restaurant, comfortable ergonomic seating and a grand spiral staircase.

A spokesperson of Qatar Airways said that when the regular service is launched with the help of a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft the customers traveling between Doha and Atlanta would be offered the choice of either traveling in the business class or economy class. The airline will however be deploying two versions of Boeing 777-300ER aircrafts – one version would be offering 48 business class seats while another version would be offering only 42 business class seats. The customers traveling in business class would be able to enjoy legroom space of 78 inches. Moreover, they will arrive fully refreshed at their destination enjoying overnight sleep in convertible fully lie-flat beds. They will also be able to take advantage of on-demand dining service.
