Qatar to launch Dallas route, on the list of major gulf carriers

Dallas one of the largest cities in Texas seems to have caught the fancy of major gulf airlines. One after the other popular gulf carriers is announcing the launch of their service to the city. Following the footsteps of its competitor Emirates, Qatar Airways announced the launch of its route to the city next year.

The Doha-based airline said it intends to commence service between Doha and Dallas/Fort Worth on July 1, 2014. The airline will offer daily nonstop service between the city pair. Passengers will soon be able to book airline tickets and fly uninterrupted on the long haul route between Middle East and the United States. All gulf airlines at this point are committed towards expanding their footprints across the United States and hence are searching for new markets that would benefit their business.

The airline recently joined Oneworld alliance and hence is looking ahead to widen its reach in the U.S. Besides Dallas, it also plans to add Philadelphia and Miami to its itinerary. The service to each of these cities would commence on April 2, 2014 and June 10, 2014 respectively. It currently flies to other American gateways including Chicago, New York, Washington D.C., and Houston from Doha. Emirates and Etihad also fly to New York and Washington D.C. from their hubs in Dubai, and Abu Dhabi.

All the major gulf airlines seem to be chasing their American dreams by expanding their reach throughout the country with Dallas catching the limelight. Emirates has a strong presence in the United States and over the last few years Etihad and Qatar have been pushing themselves hard to launch new destinations in a competitive bid.
