Scandinavian Airlines or SAS has been making efforts to improve its customers’ experience both on the ground and in the air. The airline has been continuously investing to upgrade or open new SAS Lounges at various airports in different parts of the world. As part of its upgrade exercise, SAS has recently inaugurated its newly revamped lounge at New York’s Newark Liberty International Airport.
The newly renovated SAS Lounge is housed in an area of 440 square meters and would be 100 square meters larger than the previous one. The lounge is located at Newark Liberty airport’s Terminal B. The airline’s business class customers will be able to make use of the lounge for relaxing and working prior to boarding their flights.
Media reports said that Scandinavian materials and furniture have been used to design the SAS Lounge. Among the major upgrades at the lounge include check-in and reservations assistance, free Wi-Fi facility, more outlets and charging stations, a secluded work space, a wide selection of newspapers and magazines, and a new dining area with availability of a wide choice of hot and cold dishes served whole day long.
Max Knagge, Head of SAS US, said, “It is a matter of great delight that more premium customers are now being welcomed to make use of our newly revamped lounge at Newark Liberty International Airport from where direct flights to/from are operated to Oslo, Copenhagen and Stockholm. I also want to inform that SAS has extended its network in recent years by launching flights services to many new destinations between the United States and Scandinavia. I want to announce the big news that flights to Miami from Stockholm would be launched in October 2017.”
Scandinavian Airlines currently offers flights services to several destinations in the United States. Apart from New York, other destinations in the U.S. being served with direct connections from Scandinavia include Los Angeles, San Francisco, Boston, Miami, Chicago and Washington.
