SAS increasing frequencies to Chicago, Shanghai from October 26

Scandinavian Airlines or SAS recently announced it will be increasing the frequencies of its flights to Chicago and Shanghai this winter. The airline said that it will begin operating daily flights to the two destinations from Stockholm and Copenhagen.

Media reports said that the airline is all set to add two additional frequencies to Shanghai from Copenhagen, while an extra frequency will be added to Chicago from Stockholm. The additional frequencies on both the routes will start operating during the winter schedule from October 26, 2015.

The reports said that the two extra frequencies on Shanghai-Copenhagen route will be operated on Mondays/Tuesdays and Wednesdays/Thursdays. The Stockholm-Chicago route will be served with an additional flight on Sundays.

The airline will be deploying an Airbus A330-300 aircraft for operating flights between Stockholm and Chicago. However, the flights services between Shanghai and Copenhagen will be operated with the help of an Airbus A340-300 aircraft.

Scandinavian Airlines had earlier this year announced that it will be launching additional flights from Copenhagen to San Francisco. The airline will also be launching additional departures to New York as well from Oslo and Stockholm.

Meanwhile, Scandinavian Airlines in a statement said that its long-haul fleet being operated on Newark Liberty route will be upgraded with new interiors. The air line indicated that at least four aircrafts of the seven aircrafts in its Newark Liberty fleet have been upgraded. A new aircraft is also expected to be added to the fleet with operations starting from fall 2015.  The airline is presently operating daily flights to Newark Liberty from Stockholm, Oslo and Copenhagen.
