Scandinavian Airlines upgrades its business class cabins

Scandinavian Airlines revealed the new interior of its long distance aircraft. The upgrade of the cabin will be made to seven A330 and A340 aircrafts. This upgrade will be applicable from early 2015.

SAS has put innovation on its new design by placing new in-flight entertainment system on all classes. The system will have HD Screens and Wi-Fi access. Passengers can utilize this system for complete entertainment.

SAS Business class will have a 1-2-1 seat configuration allowing passengers direct and comfortable aisle access. The seats will have inbuilt massage facility, personal power outlet and USB port, and can be converted into a fully-flat seat. Each seat has a pitch of 77 inch and contains 15 inch IFE screen for viewing videos, news, and other channels. The Sweden oldest bed manufacture, Hastens, is providing the bedding facility in this class.

SAS Premium Economy class will have a 2-3-2 seat configuration. Each seat will have 12 inch IFE screen behind it and personal power outlet and USB ports. The seat will have a pitch of 37/38 inches. SAS Economy class will have a 2-4-2 seat configuration. Each seat will have nine inch IFE screen behind it together with individual power outlet and USB port. The seat pitch will be 31/32 inches. Seats in both the classes are provided by Zodiac Aerospace, US.

The upgraded aircraft will be available for long distance journey to various destinations including San Francisco, Washington, New York, Chicago, Tokyo, Shanghai, and Beijing.
SAS will commence service of another long-haul destination, Houston from August 2014.
