Seaborne Airlines expands codeshare pact with American Airlines

Here’s good news for all those traveling to/from the United States Virgin Islands. Low-cost carrier Seaborne Airlines recently announced that it is expanding its codeshare agreement with American Airlines and will continue offering flights services to the Virgin Islands. The extended pact will also see the airline serving new destinations of St. Thomas and St. Croix as well.

Media reports said that the pact will also enable Seaborne Airlines customers booking tickets for travel on American Airlines to accrue the airline’s frequent flyer AAdvantage miles when flying between St. Croix and St. Thomas or to/from San Juan from both islands.

Seaborne Airlines is currently operating three roundtrip flights on St. Thomas-St. Croix, San Juan-St. Croix and San Juan-St. Thomas routes. The airline will also be adding a fourth seasonal service between St. Croix and San Juan starting from June 7, 2015.

Apart from its codeshare agreement with American Airlines, interline connections are also being offered by Seaborne Airlines from the U.S. Virgin Islands in association with United Airlines, Delta Air Lines, JetBlue Airways and European carrier Air Europa at Luis Munoz Marin International Airport in San Juan.

Seaborne Airlines has made many significant upgrades to smoothen connectivity in the U.S. Virgin Islands. New seaplanes have been introduced by the airline for operating flights between the seaplane bases of St. Thomas and St. Croix. The airline is presently offering flights services up to 12 times per day thus making it one of the most traveled routes in the Caribbean. The airline has been conducting services in the Caribbean for over 20 years now.
