Singapore Airlines cuts down flight service on Singapore-Los Angeles route

Singapore Airlines recently announced that it will temporarily reduce its non-stop seven-time weekly flight service to five-time weekly service from 3rd May 2011.

“We are temporarily reducing from seven to five non-stop flights a week. It’s to do with matching capacity to demand,” said Nicholas Ionides, spokesperson, Singapore Airlines.

Due to the less air travel demand on Tuesday and Wednesday the two flights that are operated by ultra long range A340-500s between Singapore and Los Angeles, will be temporarily withdrawn. The other direct services which are operated by B777-300ER will continue the services to Los Angeles with stopover in Tokyo, Narita.

According to the airline the date to resume the suspended flights will be announced later but confirmed the suspension of these two flights for at least three months.
