Singapore Airlines deploys Airbus A380 on flights to Frankfurt and New York

Singapore Airlines recently deployed Airbus A380 to operate flights to Frankfurt and New York from Singapore.

The inaugural Singapore-Frankfurt-New York service departed Singapore on January 16, 2012 carrying more than 450 passengers on board.

With the introduction of daily A380 flights, the seat capacity on this route will increase 25 percent. The new A380 flights will now replace daily Boeing 747-400 service to New York JFK via Frankfurt.

Singapore Airlines in a statement said that Frankfurt is the ninth destination, while New York is the tenth destination where superjumbo Airbus A380 aircraft will now operate daily flights. The airline also said that Frankfurt is its fourth destination in Europe, after London, Paris and Zurich. In North America, New York is the second destination after Los Angeles.
