Singapore Airlines now offers e-Magazines on flights

Singapore Airlines recently announced the introduction of e-Magazines onboard. Passengers will now enjoy the electronic version of international publications on selected inflight entertainment systems.

The airline will now offer twenty titles that include The Economists, Bloomberg Businessweek, Wall Street Journal Magazine, Prestige and Elle Magazine in its new Airbus A380 and Boeing’s B777-300ER.

As per the statement released by the airline, the new service followed the successful trial of electronic version of Silver Kris, the carrier’s own inflight magazine in July 2010. The airline will gradually introduce more new titles as well as e-newspapers and e-books over its A330-300 and A340-500 aircraft.

The introduction of the new service is another significant step that the airline has taken to keep its onboard service ahead of the others. In March 2011 the carrier implemented a news ticker service on its B777-300ER aircraft IFE system. The system provides passengers the latest headlines from Channel NewsAsia and Agence France-Presse (AFP).
