Singapore Airlines to adjust frequencies on selected routes

Singapore Airlines recently announced to make adjustments in its flight frequencies to selected routes across its network. The changes will come into effect from March 25, 2012 to October 27, 2012. The airline said that it will add flights on routes serving parts of Australia, Maldives, India and South Korea.

Providing details about capacity adjustments in Australia, Singapore Airlines disclosed that services to Adelaide will be increased to 10 times per week from the current seven. Now, flights to Brisbane and Perth will operate 21 times per week. Earlier, Brisbane was served with 19 flights, while Perth was served with 18 flights every week.

Singapore Airlines stated that it will introduce an additional flight to Seoul, thus increasing the frequency to four flights daily.

Flights to Mumbai will also be increased to 19 from the current 17 per week. Besides, flights to Male will also be increased to 14 per week. Earlier, Singapore Airlines operated 10 flights per week to the capital of Maldives. The airline in a statement said that this route will be served twice daily – 7 daytime flights and 7 nighttime flights – per week. 

Apart from boosting frequencies, the airline has also decided to reduce flight services in select markets. Now, the Singapore-Moscow-Houston service will be lowered from a daily service to five-time weekly service. Similarly, the Singapore-Munich-Manchester service will also be reduced from daily to six-time weekly. The airline further informed that flights to Taipei from Singapore will now be reduced to 14 flights per week from the previous 18 flights. In the Middle East, flights to Abu Dhabi will now be served three-time per week instead of the earlier seven flights.

According to Singapore Airlines, the frequencies adjustments are being made to meet the forecasted demand of the market.
