Singapore Airlines to end Newark flights from November 23

If you have been often traveling on the world’s longest commercial flights to Newark and Los Angeles, then this is surely a bad news as plane tickets would not be available for travel after November this year. Singapore Airlines has announced it will stop operating its two longest commercial flights in the world that links Newark and Los Angeles with Singapore.

Singapore Airlines has been operating daily nonstop flights between Singapore and Newark, stretching across 9,500 miles and averages about 18 hours via the North Pole. The flight also sometimes lasts more than 21 hours because of wind and routing variables. The airline said that it will operate its last flight to Newark from Singapore on November 23, 2013.

According to reports, Singapore Airlines has already stopped flying on Los Angeles-Singapore route from October 20, 2013. This was the airline’s second-longest flight being operated nonstop between the two enterprising destinations. The flight took nearly 17 hours to transport its passengers across the Pacific. The flights on the two routes were operated with the help of Airbus A340-500 aircrafts.
