Spirit Airlines begins new Las Vegas-Latrobe flights April 18

Spirit Airlines has announced it will be launching new nonstop flights from Latrobe’s Arnold Palmer Regional Airport to Las Vegas effective from April 16, 2015. The flights will be operated daily and would depart at 7 am.

The daily flights to Las Vegas are scheduled to be operational at a time when seasonal flights to both Tampa and Fort Myers would be ending. The flights to the two key destinations in Florida – Fort Myers and Tampa – would be starting for the first time during this season starting from December 18 and December 19, 2014 respectively.

Apart from these destinations, the airline had been offering seasonal service to Myrtle Beach from Arnold Palmer Regional. The airline had also been operating year-round flights from here to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and Orlando International Airport as well. The flights to these cities are being operated ever since 2011.

The airline had earlier provided direct flights services to Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport from Arnold Palmer Regional for a period of 10 months only starting from June 2013 and ending in April 2014. The flights between the two cities were stopped permanently because of low passenger demand.

A spokesperson of Spirit Airlines said that as usual the customers can look forward to cheap airfares which the airline is always renowned to be offering. The customers would be offered a one-way ticket costing nearly $103 for flights to Las Vegas. Among other fees to be paid by the customers include $30 for one checked bag, $35 for a carry-on bag, and seat fees of $10 to $25. The airline also allows the customers to carry one personal item such as a briefcase, backpack or purse without any extra charges.

The airline has so far transported a total of 650,054 passengers ever since it started operating out of Arnold Palmer Regional Airport from February 2011.
