Spirit Airlines celebrates one-year anniversary

Spirit Airlines is celebrating its one-year anniversary of ‘carry-on bag policy’ providing stress-free boarding for passengers.

The airline says that its carry-on bag policy is customer-friendly, innovative and unique, and has proved to be highly effective eliminating over 6,000 hours of customer frustration while boarding the flights.

The carry-on bag policy of the airline has enabled customers traveling with less baggage save money on every ticket. Under this policy, customers traveling with a large bag are made to board the aircraft first and are given space for their bag directly above their seat.

The airline said that its carry-on bag policy has significantly lowered boarding and deplaning times by an average of over six minutes due to fewer customers traveling with large bags.

Ben Baldanza, President and CEO of Spirit Airlines, said that the carry-on policy significantly aimed at addressing boarding time delay concerns, and considerably benefitted the customers.

According to its carry-on bag policy, the Spirit Airlines charges a fee from the customers with a carry-on baggage that is required to be placed in an overhead bin. However, a personal item fitting under the seat is free.
