Spirit Airlines continues to expand in Atlanta, and recently added two new routes to its network. The airline will now be offering nonstop services to 17 destinations from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, considered to be among busiest in the world.
The airline will launch flights from Atlanta to New Orleans and Minneapolis/St. Paul starting from April 14, 2016. Each route will be served with one daily roundtrip flight.
Apart from Minneapolis/St. Paul and New Orleans, other year-round or seasonal routes being currently served by Spirit Airlines from Atlanta include Tampa, Philadelphia, Orlando, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Houston, Fort Myers, Fort Lauderdale, Detroit, Dallas/Fort Worth, Cleveland, Chicago, Boston, Baltimore/Washington and Atlantic City.
Spirit Airlines will be facing stiff competition on both the new routes. The airline will be competing with Southwest Airlines and Frontier Airlines on Atlanta-Minneapolis/St. Paul route. However, the airline will be facing competition from Delta Air Lines and Southwest Airlines on Atlanta-New Orleans route. Delta Air Line will be operating 14 daily roundtrip flights between Atlanta and New Orleans, while the route will be served with four daily nonstop flights by Southwest Airlines.

The new service is likely to be appreciated by the customers as they will now be getting even more choices and greater access from Atlanta. The new service will indeed prove to be good for business as well.”
