Spirit Airlines launching direct flights to New Orleans Nov 6

Leading U.S. low-cost carrier Spirit Airlines recently announced it will be launching direct flights to Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport from Detroit and Chicago. The new flights from the two cities are scheduled to begin from November 6, 2014. The airline will be operating flights on New Orleans-Chicago and New Orleans-Detroit routes once daily.

The airline is currently offering nonstop flights to Dallas/Fort Worth. With the launch of flights to New Orleans from Detroit and Chicago, Spirit Airlines will be operating a total of five direct flights from New Orleans.

Spirit Airlines also said that it has expanded its flights services to some new destinations as well in August this year. The airline has now started operating nonstop flights to Fort Lauderdale and Houston starting from August 1, 2014.

Meanwhile, San Diego and Burbank are all set to see the arrival of new low-cost carrier SeaPort Airlines. The new Portland-based LCC will launch its flights between Burbank and San Diego starting from October 1, 2014.

SeaPort Airlines will initially start providing four roundtrip flights between Burbank’s Bob Hope Airport and Lindbergh Field. The airline will be operating one flight on Saturday, while two roundtrip flights will be operated each Sunday. The flights will be operated with the help of a Cessna 208 aircraft and will last around 65 minutes. The passengers will be offered introductory fares at $69 each way. The promotional tickets should be purchased by up till September 15. However, the regular fares will be priced between $89 and $199 each way.
