Spirit Airlines set to reward travelers who spend the least

Spirit Airlines has announced that the travelers, who would spend the least, would be rewarded. As bizarre as it sounds, the news is true though. The budget carrier has announced a different way of staying ahead in the competition. This strategy is completely opposite from the ones announced by its rival airlines in the United States for their rewards program.

The Miramar based airline has been offering cheap flights to about 57 destinations within the United States and the Caribbean since its launch in the year 1980. It is famous as a no-frills and ultra low-fare airline. The airline has in fact issued an official statement to confirm its stand. It has said that it would offer 1,000 bonus miles to its Free Spirit members who successfully manage to book one-way flights for not more than $100* every single day. Contrary to the other airlines, it aims at rewarding those travelers who book their tickets at the lowest possible rates with it. The scheme is open for bookings made through April 15, 2014.

Bobby Schroeter, Vice President of Consumer Marketing Spirit Airlines said that unlike other carrier it does not favor the rich travelers flying premier class and the ones who have the money to spend on expensive airfares. This is a preferred airline in the budget segment to various destinations. Some of these include Nassau, Punta Cana, San Juan, Cancun, Panama City, San Salvador, Boston, Houston, and Lima.
