Spirit Airlines vacation packages on offer now

Spirit Airlines has recently started offering vacation packages aimed at big revenue earnings from other sources, in addition to airfares.

Fort Lauderdale-based Spirit Airlines has already been making nearly one-third of its revenue from various fees which it charges extra, such as checked baggage, assigned seats, luggage placed in overhead bin, as well as serving water on its numerous flights.

Spirit Airlines has now started selling travel packages such as car rentals and hotel rooms so that it may further add up to its revenues.

The airline, in an effort to promote hotel offerings vigorously, has begun including select lower-end hotels for free on purchasing air tickets through Thursday for specified travel dates in October.

The decision to offer vacation packages by Spirit Airlines follows strategic moves of Allegiant Air, another discount airline, which earns nearly 30% of its revenues from selling hotel packages.
