Spirit to offer flights from Phoenix to three new destinations

Spirit Airlines announced the launch of daily service from Phoenix to three new cities across the United States. The budget airline will connect Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport with Dallas/Fort Worth, Chicago, and Denver.

The service to Dallas/Fort Worth will commence on October 24, 2013, and Chicago O’Hare and Denver will begin on November 7, 2013. These new routes will allow passengers to book cheap airfares to fly to one of these cities.

Mark Kopczak, Senior Director of Network Planningat Spirit Airlines said that Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport has been instrumental in helping the airline expand its network across cities in the country. He added that the airline is continuously adding routes and providing a chance to the customers to fly to their destinations at affordable fares. He further added that Spirit was looking forward to serving more passengers to and from Phoenix at extremely low costs.

The airline is also repositioning its operations from Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport in Mesa to Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport in Phoenix. The low-cost carrier is set to abandon operations at Mesa beginning October 23, 2013.

Greg Stanton, Mayor of Phoenix said that the city is ready for business. He added that Spirit’s decision would help the city grow in terms of economy and number of travelers visiting the city. He also expressed his happiness and pleasure about the new flights and congratulated the airline for its bold step.
