Springfield hotels renovating to remain in competition

Hotels in Springfield, Illinois are having good times now with a growing demand for overnight stays. The increasing influx of business travelers and a recovering economy are among the major factors that have spurred several hotels in the area to go in for major renovations by investing millions of dollars.

A hotel expert in Springfield said that hotel occupancy rates have significantly increased to above 11 percent in 2013 as compared to 2012. The trend is positive in 2014 as well with slight increase when compared to 2013. This has obviously enthused hotels and they are responding favorably to the demand. Many hotels have made major renovations, while some new hotels are being constructed in Springfield.
 
Here are some of the important projects currently underway in Springfield. The construction of a new Holiday Inn Express at 204 Ravdo Circle along Leffel Lane is taking place. This multi-million dollar hotel will have three floors and comprise of 83 rooms.

The Fairfield Inn at 1870 W, First St. in Springfield renovated its interiors at an investment of $1.2 million. The renovation of this hotel was completed in February 2014.

The Simon Kenton Inn has decided to invest $250,000 for building three luxury treehouses. The hotel will undertake this project for accommodating additional guests.

The Courtyard at Marriott, which is located in downtown Springfield, also renovated its rooms and completed its first floor in 2012. Presently, the hotel has decided to upgrade furniture in all its rooms.

Among other hotels in Springfield that have recently undergone major renovations include the Hampton Inn and the Red Roof Inn. Both these hotels are located on Leffel Lane.
