Study says India is strongest business travel destination in Asia

Businesspersons flying to India have every reason to be happy now. Their choice for India as a business destination seems to be perfectly alright. The possibilities of more cheap business class flights have increased manifold. Analysts have forecast positive outcome for air travel industry, particularly in the business travel segment. The latest media reports said that India has been tipped to be the strongest destination in Asia for business travelers. This has been indicated after recent air trends data survey conducted by international corporate services company Hogg Robinson Group.

The figures reveal 11.1 percent growth y-o-y for corporate travel expenditure in India. The outcome indicates that the stated figure is the highest among all countries in Asia. A top travel analyst has said that corporate travel expenditure in India has grown tremendously. Over the past five years an almost five-fold increase in business travel expenditure has been witnessed. The reason being attributed is that more Indian companies are becoming globalized, and MNCs have established their presence in India because of stable government and strong macroeconomic fundamentals. The positive scenario in the country of late has significantly increased the number of Indian business travelers.

The survey results revealed that India has succeeded in surpassing China, which has shown a 2.3 percent decline y-o-y in its corporate air travel transactions. The results have at the same time painted a rosy picture for China. According to the forecast, China is tipped to overtake the United States as the world’s biggest business travel destination by 2015.
