Swiss International Air Lines recently announced it will be launching its new Boeing 777-300ER aircrafts for operating flights from Zurich to Miami and San Francisco this winter. Media reports said that Swiss will be deploying its new long-haul Boeing 777-300ER aircraft for the first time on both Miami-Zurich and San Francisco-Zurich routes.
According to the reports, Swiss will start operating its flights services between Zurich and Miami starting from October 30, 2016. The airline will operate one of its two flights with the help of Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. The flights will be operated on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
The airline will also be operating its new Boeing 777-300ER aircraft between San Francisco International Airport and Zurich as well starting from February 16, 2017. The flights between the two destinations would be operated thrice weekly on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Swiss however in a statement said that it will be deploying Airbus A340-300 or Airbus A330-300 aircraft to offer other flight services on Miami and San Francisco routes.
The reports further stated that the new winter schedule will also see Swiss offering weekly flights services from Zurich to Belgrade, Krakow, Berlin and Hamburg. The airline also announced that it will be launching its first-ever flights to London City and Sion from Zurich in February 2017. Additionally, the airline also indicated that it will be deploying larger aircrafts to operate flights to select destinations in Italy, Portugal and Spain from Geneva.
A spokesperson of Swiss International Air Lines said that the passenger demand for more services to European destinations is growing. The airline has therefore decided that it would be increasing its frequencies to several European destinations from Zurich. According to the new winter schedule, the airline will now be launching new flights to Hamburg, Berlin, Krakow and Belgrade. The airline will be operating four-time weekly flights to Hamburg. Belgrade will be served with once weekly flight, while both Krakow and Berlin will be offered twice weekly flights services each.
