Switzerland’s national carrier Swiss International Air Lines recently launched its new business class on Boeing 777-300ER aircraft to be flown on Zurich-Singapore route. The new business class is aimed at attracting bankers and business honchos to travel between the two renowned financial centers.
Media reports said that though the distance between the world’s two big financial centers is 10,000 km, this doesn’t deter bankers to fly on the route which is now the most frequented one. According to the reports, the new business class on Boeing 777-300ER aircraft was being eagerly awaited by the bankers ever since the airline announced its launch.
A spokesperson of Swiss International Air Lines said that the business class cabin in Boeing 777-300ER aircraft is quite luxurious and spacious in comparison to those being offered on Airbus A340-300 aircraft. The airline will be offering 62 business class seats in Boeing 777-300ER, which is indeed greater when compared to 47 seats being currently offered in business class on A340-300. The business class seats in B777-300ER are also broader and airier in comparison to that in Airbus.
The customers traveling in new Boeing 777-300ER are offered great business class flying experience, whether booking single window seats or two-seater-rows. In fact, the single window seats have earned the nickname of ‘Throne’ among the airline’s staff.
Markus Binkert, Chief Commercial Officer of Swiss International Air Lines, said, “The new business class product on Boeing 777-300ER aircraft comes in diverging form as the airline wants to accommodate different requirements of the customers, and has thus created separate sleeping and working seats. This would also pose quite a challenge to the airline for selling seats with different requirements, but we hope that this would be well taken by our premium customers. The airline will also be offering different tariffs in future within the business class itself, on the similar lines of economy class.”
Swiss International Air Lines is already using the new Boeing 777-300ER aircraft for operating flights to Los Angeles, Singapore, Bangkok and Hong Kong, and sometimes also to Montreal and Sao Paulo as well. The airline is also planning to launch flights to Miami starting from October 30, 2016, and also to San Francisco effective from February 16, 2017.
