Swiss unveils new strategy, upgrades business class product

Swiss, which prefers calling itself “Next Generation Airline of Switzerland” as part of new strategy, has recently announced a “substantial” overhaul of its business class product. The airline said that its customers booking business class flights would now be provided more comfort and privacy.

The airline in a statement said that its business class customers traveling on short-haul flights would be offered a bus transfer at select airports by the end of March 2015. The complimentary bus transfer service would be available at major airports across Europe after the arrival of flights at non-terminal stands.

The airline’s European fleet of Airbus A320 and A321 aircrafts is presently being overhauled with new business cabin design. The aircrafts are undergoing ergonomic seating refitting.
 
Swiss has already indicated that from March onwards the adjacent seat in business class cabin will be kept vacant. The airline further said that the customers booking long-haul flights will benefit from the upgrade in the final quarter of 2015. During this period the airline will be opening its new lounges for its Senator and Swiss Business members at Zurich airport’s Dock E.

According to the airline, the Senator lounge has been designed to accommodate 175 passengers, while the Swiss Business lounge has a capacity for 200 passengers. Both the lounges will share a combined space of 2,000 square meters and include a terrace offering magnificent views of the Alps and the runways. Among other upgrades include new on-board meals selection on long-haul flights. The airline’s culinary offering range is being expanded with a wide choice of starters and an additional separate cheese course.
