Swiss upgrades in-flight meal choices on Tokyo-Zurich flights

Swiss International Air Lines, popularly called Swiss, has upgraded the in-flight meal choices for its customers traveling in first class or booking business class tickets on Tokyo Narita-Zurich route. The airline is now ready to welcome its customers on the route with its “SWISS Taste of Switzerland” concept, which has been created by Japan’s most renowned French cuisine chef Kiyomi Mikuni.

Chef Kiyomi Mikuni has for over a decade been creating in-flight menus for both first class and business class customers traveling on Swiss flights ever since 2002. Mikuni has presently been preparing two of the four different main courses for the airline’s first class customers traveling between Tokyo Narita and Zurich. He has also been creating one of the four main courses for business class customers as well traveling on the route.

A spokesperson of Swiss said that the airline will be introducing new menu on Tokyo Narita-Zurich route in June 2015. The menu will include a main course, an appetizer and a dessert. This will be in addition to a wide selection of local wines and cheeses from Ticino, the southernmost canton of Switzerland.

The appetizers to be served to the first class customers traveling on the route will include a green pea and clam soup, and prawns with an udo and sea urchin sauce. The main course will include grilled cod with a seaweed beurre blanc sauce, potatoes, leeks and carrots, or sauteed lamb chops with red wine sauce, french fries and snow peas.
 
The airline will however be serving a salmon and cucumber mosaic terrine and tomato mousse as appetizer in the business class. The main course will include seared sea bream and clams with pot-au-feu sauce and seasonal vegetables.
